Job Description

The Resident Engagement Specialist serves as an in-facility caregiver responsible for enhancing residents' quality of life through meaningful engagement, companionship, personal care assistance, and emotional support. This position promotes resident independence,dignity, and well-being by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), facilitating social interaction, encouraging participation incommunity activities, and providing individualized support based on each resident's needs and preferences. The Resident Engagement Specialist works collaboratively with facility staff, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure residentsremain active, engaged, safe, and supported. Primary Responsibilities Client Care Services Provide hands-on personal care and homemaker services in accordance with client care plans. Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility assistance, transfers, meal preparation, medication reminders, companionship, transportation, and light housekeeping. Monitor and report changes in client condition, safety concerns, and unmet care needs. Complete documentation accurately and timely. Leadership & Mentoring Serve as a role model for professionalism, reliability, and compassionate care. Mentor newly hired caregivers during orientation and training periods. Assist caregivers with problem-solving and best practices in the field. Reinforce company policies, procedures, and service standards. Support caregiver engagement and retention efforts. Client Support Conduct client introductions and caregiver match visits. Communicate quality concerns and recommendations to office leadership. Promote excellent customer service with clients, families, facilities, and referral partners. On-Call & Emergency Staffing Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Respond to caregiver call-offs, client emergencies, and urgent staffing needs. Accept last-minute assignments to ensure continuity of care. Fill open shifts when caregivers are unavailable or staffing shortages occur. Travel to client homes on short notice when operational needs require immediate coverage. Serve as an after-hours resource for caregivers, clients, and family members. QualificationsRequired Minimum one year of professional caregiving experience. Strong knowledge of personal care and homemaker services. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance. Ability to travel throughout assigned service areas. Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays when on call. Ability to independently solve problems and make sound decisions. Preferred Two or more years of home care experience. Previous leadership, mentoring, or training experience. Experience working with dementia, Alzheimer's, veterans, hospice, or behavioral health clients. CPR/First Aid Certification.
