Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic Adult Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, nurturing environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those in your care, fostering a sense of community and well-being. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote dignity and independence Monitor vital signs and observe health status, reporting any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals Support individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities through personalized care plans, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and mobility needs Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist residents during meal times to encourage social interaction Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties, cleaning resident areas, and adhering to infection control standards Experience Prior assisted living or long-term care experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is highly preferred Experience working in nursing homes, retirement homes, or residential care homes demonstrating familiarity with geriatric care practices Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies Proficiency in basic first aid and CPR certification to respond effectively during emergencies Ability to operate standard passenger cars for transportation needs; driving experience is advantageous Hands-on experience with manual handling techniques and safe patient lifting practices Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, team members, and healthcare providers effectively Join us in creating a caring environment where every individual feels valued and supported.
