Fletcher House ALF Reports to: Administrator Position summary: To assist nursing staff. Work cooperatively and respectfully with resident, coworkers, families, visitors, and volunteers.
Position responsibilities:
Answer resident call lights promptly and courteously. Operate washer, dryer, and other laundry equipment. Assist in folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing linen to the correct location. Sweep, dust, and mop as needed. Empty and change liners in all waste cans daily and when needed. Clean and wash all basins and commodes as needed. Clean resident rooms daily Protect the personal belongings with each resident, including eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, jewelry, clothing, and memorabilia. Perform all job responsibilities with safety and infection control procedures including thorough handwashing, use of disposable gloves, and proper disposal of soiled materials. Be accountable.
Essential skill and experience:
Time management, proficient reading and writing, and intrapersonal relations, good communication skills, computer proficiency.
Nonessential skill and experience:
Adhere to all Uplands policies. Provide individualized attention, which encourages each resident's ability to maintain or attain the highest practical psychosocial well-being. Walk extensively to and from rooms as assigned. Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, coworkers, and supervisors. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary laundry area. Assist in maintain a clean, safe, and neat environment. Maintain the comfort, dignity, and privacy of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment. Be reliable and prompt for work on days scheduled.
