Grounded By Faith , a trauma-informed, Christian-based emergency shelter for boys ages 5-17, is hiring Residential Youth Care Workers (Caregivers) who want to be more than just staff — they want to be mentors, protectors, and hope-bringers.

What You'll Do:

Be a daily source of safety, structure, and encouragement for youth in care Support with routines like hygiene, meals, schoolwork, recreation, and group activities Help children regulate emotions using positive behavior support strategies Provide 1-on-1 supervision when needed during crisis or high-risk moments Drive youth to appointments, court dates, and enrichment outings Keep daily logs and support individualized service plans Foster healing and connection in a structured, faith-friendly environment

What We're Looking For:

A compassionate, steady, and reliable role model Someone with a strong sense of purpose, patience, and emotional intelligence Comfortable working flexible schedules including weekends and overnights Committed to trauma-informed, respectful, and culturally competent care Basic Hiring Requirements (Per DFPS Standards): Must be 21 years of age or older High school diploma or GED required Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record Able to pass FBI fingerprinting , DFPS background check , and Central Registry check Clear TB test and pre-employment drug screening Must complete pre-service training and emergency behavior intervention (EBI) certification (provided after hire) Strong communication skills and willingness to document activities consistently Must be able to safely lift up to 25 lbs and participate in active supervision
