This vital role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being. As an Elderly Caregiver, you will play a key part in creating a warm, respectful environment where seniors feel valued, comfortable, and cared for. Your energy, patience, and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' vital signs and observe patient conditions closely to identify any changes or concerns, ensuring timely communication with healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote health and comfort. Administer medications accurately following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality. Support residents during medical procedures or treatments such as wound care, hospice care, or dementia and memory care activities. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning tasks and assisting with laundry and household chores. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or outings, ensuring safe patient transfers using appropriate manual handling techniques. Document care activities thoroughly in compliance with healthcare standards and communicate effectively with clients' families about their loved ones' progress. Experience Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration accurately. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and neurodevelopmental disorders supports effective resident engagement. Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment is essential. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities enhances your ability to provide personalized support. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in hospice care or geriatrics are advantageous. Strong communication skills enable clear client interaction and effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
