Assist residents with daily living activities, including hygiene, meals, chores, and personal care. Provide emotional support, encouragement, and guidance to youth. Implement behavior management strategies and follow treatment plans as directed. Monitor and document residents' behaviors, incidents, medications, and daily activities Complete required documentation and shift notes accurately and on time. Transport residents to school, appointments, recreational activities, and community outings as needed. Assist with meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining cleanliness of the facility. Conduct room checks, safety checks, and ensure compliance with house rules and policies. Communicate effectively with supervisors, case managers, therapists, and team members. Respond appropriately to crisis situations and emergency incidents. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Serve as a positive role model for residents through appropriate behavior and communication.
Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Direct Care Staff is responsible for providing supervision, support, structure, and care to youth in a girls group home setting. Staff will help create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment while assisting residents with daily living skills, emotional support, behavior management, and transportation needs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor residents at all times to ensure safety and well-being Maintain a structured, positive, and nurturing environment.Assist residents with daily living activities, including hygiene, meals, chores, and personal care. Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Experience working with youth, adolescents, or in residential care preferred. Must be dependable, punctual, compassionate, and able to work as part of a team Ability to remain calm in stressful situations Good communication and documentation skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, overnight shifts, and 12-hour shifts.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to respond quickly during emergencies or crisis situations. Preferred Qualities. Structured and organized.
