Provide responsible supervision for young children while teaching developmentally appropriate skills to foster growth and independence through planned but flexible program activities.Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED or enrolled in a High School public school work-study program. Must be 18 years of age or 17 years of age and enrolled in a High School public school work-study program. CDA and/or childcare training preferred.Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must assist in implementing activities to meet children's developmental needs; Must help teach self-discipline and acceptable behavior; Must support fellow caregivers in maintaining an organized, nurturing classroom; Must regularly attend training classes to advance personal and professional skills; Must be physically able to lift 30 pounds to table height; Must become familiar with Texas Minimum Standards for Registered Child Care Centers.Experience:
Minimum one year experience working in a childcare center preferred.
