Job Summary Rays of Life is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Care Staff to provide supervision, support, and care to youth residing in our General Residential Operation (GRO). Staff members are responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, therapeutic, and nurturing environment in accordance with DFPS Minimum Standards and organizational policies. Duties Direct Care Staff responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing direct supervision of residents at all times Maintaining compliance with DFPS Minimum Standards Assisting residents with daily living skills and routines Supervising educational activities, chores, hygiene, meals, and recreation Transporting residents to school, appointments, outings, and activities Monitoring behaviors and ensuring resident safety Implementing behavior management and de-escalation techniques Conducting room checks, bed checks, and safety checks Completing incident reports, daily documentation, and required logs Supporting treatment goals and therapeutic interventions Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality Participating in staff meetings and required trainings Assisting during emergencies, evacuations, and shelter-in-place situations Work Environment This position requires active supervision of children in a residential environment. Staff must be able to respond quickly to emergencies, behavioral escalations, and crisis situations while maintaining professionalism and composure.
