About the role As a Caregiver at Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead, you will provide attentive, hands on support in a boutique assisted living home with only 1-3 residents. Because our community is small, caregivers know each resident personally and take meaningful responsibility for the quality of daily life in the home. This is a broad, active caregiving role. In addition to personal care, you will prepare meals, maintain a clean and welcoming home, support medication routines, lead activities, document care, and communicate changes in residents' needs. We are looking for an experienced caregiver who notices what needs to be done, follows through without constant direction, and treats every resident with dignity and respect. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, mobility, transfers, and eating Observe residents closely, respond promptly to their needs, and report changes in condition, mood, appetite, behavior, mobility, or safety Prepare and serve appealing meals and snacks according to menus, resident preferences, dietary instructions, and food safety requirements Complete routine housekeeping, laundry, dishes, room upkeep, and shared space cleaning so the home remains safe, sanitary, comfortable, and welcoming Assist with medication administration or medication supervision, complete required documentation, and follow all training, delegation, facility policy, and regulatory requirements Maintain accurate care records, medication records, shift notes, incident documentation, and other required forms Communicate professionally with residents and families and, under the direction of facility management, help coordinate appointments, visits, services, and changes in care with physicians, nurses, home health agencies, and hospice providers Support resident centered routines, choices, privacy, independence, cultural preferences, and personal dignity Encourage conversation, companionship, social engagement, movement, and participation in meaningful activities suited to each resident's interests and abilities Follow infection control, emergency preparedness, resident safety, confidentiality, and assisted living policies Work cooperatively with other caregivers and provide a clear, complete handoff at each shift change Respond calmly and responsibly during emergencies and promptly notify the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional Perform other duties reasonably related to resident care and the safe operation of a small assisted living home Required qualifications At least 18 years of age At least one year of paid caregiving experience in assisted living, memory care, home care, a group home, skilled nursing, or a related setting Genuine concern for older adults and a consistent record of treating residents with patience, dignity, and respect Resident centered judgment, including the ability to listen to preferences and support independence whenever safely possible Self directed work habits and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without constant supervision Dependable, responsible, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance Clear verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to use a smartphone, tablet, or computer for documentation Ability to prepare meals and complete routine housekeeping as part of the caregiver role Ability to work respectfully with residents, families, coworkers, nurses, physicians, home health agencies, and hospice providers Ability to complete required background checks, health screenings, tuberculosis screening, training, and competency evaluations Benefits Salary includes overtime payment Private room onsite is provided 3 meals and 2 snacks a day is provided Earn additional salary for covering extra hours or shifts at overtime rate About Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead is a boutique, family centered assisted living home in Lakeway, Texas.
