For more information, visit www.lakewaychurch.org Overview The Children's Ministry Director provides strategic vision and leadership to the Children's Ministry program. The Director coordinates and manages programming for children birth through fifth grade. The primary objectives include creating a Christ-centered environment where children are discipled in the Word of God and parents are equipped to nurture their children in a life changing relationship with Jesus. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Lakeway Church Children's Ministry. Build Christ-centered relationships with children and their families. Recruit and train volunteers for all Children's Ministry activities. Support and shepherd volunteers for all Children's Ministry activities. Offer spiritual guidance, developmental support, oversight, and coaching to children's staff. Be available to counsel and shepherd children and their families. Oversee security measures to ensure each child's safety. Initiate and encourage outreach to unchurched children and families. Reach out to visitors and help them get connected to others in the church. Develop and implement Sunday morning programming and curriculum. Develop and implement weekly programs and seasonal events for children and families. Host events like Awanas, Mom events, and lead Christmas Nativities Maintain accurate attendance records and expenditures. Direct room use and program equipment selection. Meet with area preschool and nursery directors to establish best practices. Develop the ministry's annual budget in cooperation with the pastoral staff. Attend weekly church staff meetings.Minimum Qualifications Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Current enrollment in or graduation from an institution of higher education (college, university, etc.) is highly preferred. Seminary degree, enrollment, or vocational ministry calling is preferred.Experience:
Previous experience in children's ministry is required. Relationally gifted and able to disciple, mentor, and train staff and volunteers. Strong interpersonal and relational skills. Enjoy being with kids and able to engage actively on their level. Administrative and strategic leadership skills. Strong computer and technology skills (Microsoft Office, ProPresenter, video editing, etc.) . Audio visual experience is preferred. Faith Requirements Personal relationship with Jesus Christ; clear salvation testimony A personal commitment to grow spiritually, obey God's Word, and demonstrate His love A passion for Christ and a call to Christian ministry or service to children and/or families Proven willingness and ability to share their personal experiences of Christ with others Church membership required; must commit to active membership at The Lakeway Church Must agree with The Lakeway Church's Purpose and Mission and Statement of Faith Character Requirements Humble, teachable, accountable, and willing to grow Must maintain a good moral character and reputation by living a lifestyle above reproach (including but not limited to, abstaining from alcohol abuse, smoking, illegal drug use, pornography, and profanity) Creative and willing to explore new ideas to connect with children and their families Work Environment and Physical Requirements Busy indoor office, buildings, and grounds including but not limited to classrooms, large group meeting areas, kitchen, coffee bar, worship & fellowship areas, as well as outdoor playgrounds and fields; walking between buildings is required Extended periods of sitting, walking, standing, stooping, sitting on the floor; occasional kneeling, running, and jumping are required Lifting, pushing, and pulling are required. Overnight travel is required. Some activities will occur at off-site indoor and outdoor facilities (camps, campgrounds, picnic facilities, athletic fields, etc.). Some events will require staff to be outdoors for regular and prolonged activities. Some events/activities require long shifts, weekends, extended late night, and early morning hours.
