Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for individuals requiring support with daily activities and health management. This vital role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives by delivering personalized, respectful, and attentive care. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and a proactive approach to caregiving, ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being at all times. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health through observation of vital signs and overall condition, promptly reporting changes to healthcare professionals Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and medical instructions Support clients with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound management, and other specialized treatments Maintain detailed medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems in compliance with healthcare regulations and HIPAA confidentiality standards Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe living environment Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate methods like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques while prioritizing safety and comfort Follow all home healthcare regulations and protocols related to hospice care, end-of-life support, and geriatric patient needs Communicate effectively with clients' families and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery Requirements Proven experience as a live-in caregiver or in-home health aide with a strong understanding of home health care assistance Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or in geriatrics settings Familiarity with assisted living environments, nursing homes, or hospice care is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer devices Certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications in hospice or end-of-life care are a plus Strong communication skills for client interaction and documentation purposes Knowledge of home health agency operations, home & community care standards, and compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA Ability to work independently in a live-in capacity while maintaining professionalism and compassion Join us in providing heartfelt care that enhances the quality of life for those who need it most.
