Job Description
Overview Vida Residential Treatment Center is looking for professional, observant, and dependable Behavioral Care Specialists . Our facility provides a safe, structured environment for male youth (ages 7-17) navigating emotional and behavioral challenges. As a Care Specialist, you will be assigned to supervise residents according to their specific clinical needs. This ranges from General Group Supervision to Intensive One-to-One (1:1) Monitoring . This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives by providing compassionate care, innovative therapeutic techniques, and expert guidance. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will foster positive change, promote well-being, and empower clients to achieve their personal goals within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities Adaptive Supervision:
Maintain safety and supervision of residents at assigned ratios as dictated by the Individual Service Plan .Active Engagement:
Facilitate daily routines, including educational support (homework), life skills training, and recreational activities.Transportation:
Drive residents to and from school, medical appointments, and planned recreational activities using the facility vehicle.Meal Preparation:
Support the daily menu by cooking nutritious, well-balanced meals for the residents, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.Active Engagement:
Lead and participate in recreational outings, promoting positive social skills and community integration.De-escalation:
Use trauma-informed communication to manage verbal or physical aggression and maintain a therapeutic environment.Compliance Documentation:
Accurately complete Shift Logs , Medication Administration Records , and incident reports.Night Safety:
For night shifts, perform consistent "bed checks" and safety rounds to ensure all residents are secure and accounted for.Shifts:
7:00 AM- 3:00 PM | 3:00 PM
- 11:00 PM | 11:00 PM
- 7:00 AM (Awake Night)
Requirements Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.Experience:
1+ years in a Residential Treatment Center, foster care, or a mental health setting is preferred.Driving Record:
Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record (no major violations) to meet our insurance requirements.Compliance:
Must pass an FBI Fingerprint background check, drug screen, and TB test.Job Types:
