Companion Caregiver / Personal Assistant for
Blind Senior Full-Time, Part-Time, or Live-In Opportunity Location:
Private ranch approximately 13 miles east of Seguin, Texas We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and trustworthy caregiver to provide daily support for my 77-year-old father, who is legally blind and lives on a beautiful private ranch outside of Seguin. He does not require skilled nursing or assistance with bathing, but because of his vision loss he needs help navigating his home and property, preparing meals, managing medications, attending appointments, and completing many day-to-day tasks. We are looking for someone who will help him maintain a safe, comfortable, and fulfilling quality of life while respecting his independence. This position is available as either live-in or live-out, depending on the right candidate. Schedule Approximately 4-8 hours per day 7 days per week (schedule can be shared between multiple caregivers if preferred) Flexible hours for the right candidate Responsibilities Assist with safe mobility throughout the home and ranch by serving as a guide when walking Medication reminders and organization Prepare meals and snacks Grocery shopping and household errands Drive to medical appointments and other outings Light housekeeping, laundry, and general household organization Keep the kitchen and pantry stocked and organized Provide companionship, conversation, and encouragement Feed two friendly outside dogs Communicate with family regarding any concerns or changes About My Father My father is intelligent, enjoys conversation, and has a good sense of humor. Losing his vision has been a major life adjustment, and at times he can become frustrated or strong-willed. We're looking for someone who is patient, calm, confident, and emotionally mature. Qualifications Previous experience caring for seniors is preferred Ability to maintain a financial budget for meals, etc Experience assisting someone with vision loss is a plus, but not required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Reliable transportation Comfortable working in a rural ranch setting Comfortable around dogs Dependable, organized, trustworthy, and compassionate Strong communication skills and good judgment Clean background check Compensation Competitive pay based on experience. We are open to an hourly arrangement or a live-in position for the right candidate. Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
