Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and caring professional to join our team on our
•2nd shift = 3pm-11pm
• . The ideal candidate will work directly with adults with intellectual, development or related disorders. This candidate monitors and provides assistance to special needs residents with activities of daily living and engagement activities. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively communicate with residents and support their needs. Duties Support residents' ability to perform activities of daily living through demonstration, observing and assisting. Support residents' completion of activities of daily living including laundry, sweeping, mopping, dusting, washing, dishes and organization/decluttering. Completes daily cottage checks with residents and identifying areas of need and improvement. Prompts and assists residents with domestic chores. Assist residents with dressing, hygiene, toileting and bathing. Documents services provided and reports observations to Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing. Assesses residents' current level of ability to complete ADL's. Addresses areas of need from resident service plans, assists residents in setting goals, documents and tracks progress. Skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with residents and team members. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use Microsoft Windows and Office. Ability to use software to design calendars and signs. Ability to use the Internet.
