Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant who are fluent in Dari or Pashto to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively in various settings such as retirement homes and group homes. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect. Monitor and record vital signs as required, maintaining accurate health records for each client. Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and guidelines. Help clients engage in social activities and maintain connections within their community. Lift and transfer clients safely when necessary, using proper techniques to ensure their comfort and safety. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks as needed. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop personalized care plans that address individual needs. Qualifications Previous experience in home community care or similar roles is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus. Familiarity with social work principles and practices related to client care is beneficial. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and assist clients with mobility challenges. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Certification or training related to personal care assistance or similar fields is an advantage but not mandatory.
