Job Description

We are currently hiring for the position of Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and wanted to reach out regarding this role. Job Overview The Direct Support Professional provides compassionate daily care and supervision to residents in both home and community settings. The goal is to foster a safe, supportive environment while helping clients build independent living and social skills. Key Responsibilities
  • Assistance with
Daily Living:
Help residents with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, dressing, and daily routines.
  • Meal Preparation:
    Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals, accommodating specific dietary restrictions or allergies.
  • Medication Management:
    Safely administer or assist with prescribed oral and topical medications and maintain accurate logs.
  • Skill Building:
    Teach and encourage independent living skills, such as housekeeping, laundry, budgeting, and communication.
  • Community Integration:
    Accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, and recreational or social outings.
  • Safety and Crisis Intervention:
    Maintain a secure environment, respond calmly to behavioral or medical emergencies, and use proper de-escalation techniques.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain detailed, confidential daily logs regarding resident progress, behavior, and incident reports. Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, patience, empathy, and the physical ability to assist with resident mobility. Work Environment & Schedule
  • Schedule:
    Flexible shifts, which may include overnights, weekends, and holidays (part-time and per diem options available).
