Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and patient Personal Care Attendant to provide one-on-one support for a 31-year-old male with chronic medical needs, severe intellectual disability, and autism. The ideal candidate has a strong background in behavioral support, as the individual can display aggressive behavior when frustrated. You will work in a supportive home environment to assist with daily living and help him maintain his health and safety.

Pay Rate:

$13.88 / hour (or the current Virginia personal care services rate)

Key Responsibilities:

• Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assist with personal care, hygiene, meal preparation.

• Medication Management:

  Assist with the timely administration of scheduled medications.

• Health Monitoring:

  Actively monitor physical condition, health status, and behavioral changes.

Behavioral Support:

Implement behavioral management techniques calmly and patiently during episodes of frustration or aggression.

Requirements:

• At least 22 years old.
• Prior experience as a personal care attendant or caregiver for individuals with autism/behavioral challenges.

• Demeanor:

  Must possess an exceptionally compassionate, patient, and level-headed temperament. Ability to follow instructions and work independently

• Background Check:

  Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation to travel to the home location.
• Non-smoker strongly preferred.
