Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, dependable and experienced Canine Caregiver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, a strong work ethic, and experience working with dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments. This role involves ensuring the well-being of the dogs in an outdoor farm setting, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and delivering outstanding customer service to dog guardians. Key Responsibilities Provide daily care for dogs with enthusiasm, including feeding, exercise and play supervision, and basic grooming Handle dogs safely and effectively, and utilize proper safety techniques when required. Diligently monitor the health and behavior of dogs on property, reporting any concerns immediately to the appropriate supervisor Communicate effectively with supervisors and other kennel staff regarding dog health and behavior, client requests, and task progress. Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment, including boarding and grooming areas and play yards Engage with dog owners regarding their dogs' well-being and address any questions or concerns. Administer medications as directed by dog owners or veterinarians. Assist with dog training and behavioral assessments when necessary. Perform heavy lifting as needed for larger dogs or equipment. Requirements Previous experience in animal care or handling is a must, such as in a kennel, farm or veterinary setting, or extensive animal training. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, farm-like environment with changing weather conditions Strong customer service skills to effectively and professionally communicate with pet owners and address their needs. Veterinary experience is highly desirable Dog training knowledge is a plus Familiarity with basic grooming tasks Capable of lifting or moving heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) safely and efficiently. Must be able to reliably work scheduled shifts, including on weekends and holidays, as required; short-notice availability is a plus. For serious consideration, please provide a detailed description of previous work or experience caring for dogs, or working in a high-energy outdoor setting. On-the-job training will be provided.
