BrightStar Care of East Richmond, an independently owned and operated agency actively hiring compassionate members to their team to work with the elderly in their home. The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client's needs. Overview We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Personal Care Attendant to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients by delivering personalized care tailored to their unique needs. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns promptly. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with dietary restrictions or preferences. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning/ housekeeping and sanitation tasks. Provide patient transportation assistance for appointments or community outings using appropriate transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques. Document care utilizing mobile device accurately while respecting residents' rights and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Requirements High school diploma or GED Successful completion of a home health aide program Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray Licensed driver with an insured automobile Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, with a focus on home health environments. Experience with dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, the elderly population and the veteran community is highly valued. Familiarity with care plans, patient monitoring, first aid, and CPR certification is required. Previous experience with thorough documentation and completing shifts cellular devices and will be considered an asset. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, manual handling proficiency, and the ability to assist with heavy lifting safely while maintaining patient dignity and safety standards. $16.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 40.0 per week
