Job Summary Join our dedicated team as an In-Home Support Professional (DSP) for weekends only, working from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM in the Yorktown, VA area! Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Support clients with meal preparation and light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment. Monitor and observe clients' health status, including vital signs and overall condition, ensuring adherence to care plans. Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community outings, promoting independence. Use manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods to ensure safe mobility. Administer medication as directed and document all care activities following HIPAA guidelines for confidentiality. Engage clients in meaningful activities that foster social interaction and mental stimulation. Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely; CPR and First Aid certification are a plus. Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with clients and team members while respecting residents' rights. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and home & community care standards to ensure privacy and quality care. Reliable transportation to travel within the Yorktown area during scheduled shifts.
