Caregiver - Job Description Overview Caregivers provide essential in‑home support that helps clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent. This role is ideal for compassionate, reliable individuals who enjoy helping others and making a meaningful difference every day. Key Responsibilities Personal Care & Daily Living Support Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting Support safe mobility, transfers, and fall‑prevention practices Help with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration Provide medication reminders (non‑clinical) Home Support Perform light housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, and tidying Assist with errands, shopping, and transportation as required Maintain a clean, safe environment for the client Companionship & Emotional Support Engage clients in conversation, activities, and social interaction Offer reassurance, patience, and a positive presence Observe and report changes in client condition Documentation & Communication Record visit notes accurately and on time in the agency system Communicate promptly with office staff about concerns or schedule changes Follow care plans and agency policies Qualifications Experience in caregiving, home care, or related fields preferred (but not required for entry‑level roles) Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients safely Strong communication and reliability Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required by your agency) Ability to pass background checks and required screenings Success Traits Compassion and patience Dependability and professionalism Good judgment and problem‑solving Respect for client dignity and privacy Willingness to learn and follow care plans
