Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Support patients with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Administer medication following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment to support overall health. Assist with transportation for medical appointments or community outings, ensuring client safety at all times. Document care activities accurately in client records and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams. Requirements Proven experience working as an in-home caregiver or in assisted living/nursing home settings; experience with group homes or home health is highly valued. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, memory care, Alzheimer's care, and neurodevelopmental disorders support. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, patient transfers, and the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are preferred. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare providers. Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
