Job Description

Part-Time Caregiver/House Person Needed for 86-Year-Old Man - Rural/Farm Setting We're seeking a patient, physically strong assistant/caregiver for our 86-year-old man, a veteran, who still manages his own business. He has a short temper and can be difficult and slow to warm up to new people. The right candidate will be understanding, thick-skinned, and able to work respectfully with man, spouse, family, and staff alike. Physical strength is a firm requirement for this position. This is a part-time position (15-20 hours/week) starting on a trial basis , with potential for expanded hours for the right person.
Responsibilities include:
Hands-on mobility assistance and fall prevention (must be able to physically support and steady a large adult male) Light farm chores to be busy when not needed in house. Housekeeping and cooking Driving to appointments and running errands Assisting with phone calls Friendly conversation about music, travel, history, food.
The ideal candidate:
Physically strong — able to safely assist a large man with transfers, standing, and walking, socks, health care Experienced with elderly care, mobility assistance, or difficult personalities (preferred) Patient, discreet, and respectful of privacy Comfortable in a rural/farm environment Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Comfortable engaging in peaceful conversation with someone who holds conservative views if brought up
Schedule:
20 hours/week, trial basis to start. Shifts always begin at 8:00 AM. Specific days to be discussed. Please do not apply unless you are serious about this work. This position requires reliability, commitment, and a genuine willingness to show up consistently for a man who depends on it and a willingness to be flexible if care not needed on certain days. Compensation based on experience. Please include references and work experiences.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
