Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve, particularly individuals with disabilities, dementia, or those requiring hospice care. This role is crucial in fostering a safe and nurturing environment while promoting independence and dignity.

Hours:

7a-7p (end of week/beginning of week schedule) 7 days on/7 days off Duties As a Direct Care Worker, your responsibilities will include: Assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Implementing and following individualized care plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. Providing direct support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. Offering companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those experiencing dementia or other cognitive impairments. Assisting with mobility and lifting clients as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Monitoring and documenting changes in clients' conditions and reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Collaborating with social workers and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Previous experience in hospice care or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Familiarity with patient care systems and direct support methodologies. Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively. Experience in meal preparation for individuals with dietary restrictions or special needs. Understanding of dementia care principles and techniques is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
