Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as an In Home Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring personalized care and support within their own homes. As an In Home Caregiver, you will be a vital part of creating a nurturing environment where clients feel valued, respected, and empowered to live their best lives. Your proactive approach and attentive care will foster trust and enhance quality of life for those you serve. Responsibilities Deliver personalized patient care by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, tracking changes, and reporting findings in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations. Administer medication safely following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration accurately. Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met while accommodating dietary restrictions. Assist with patient transfers using proper manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safety for both client and caregiver. Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other neurodevelopmental disabilities to promote mental well-being. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces. Support clients in community outings or personal transportation needs while ensuring safety during travel. Follow all care plans meticulously, including documentation of patient observations, progress notes, and incident reports. Uphold residents' rights by respecting privacy, dignity, and autonomy at all times during caregiving activities. Qualifications Proven experience working with individuals in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes; experience in geriatrics or hospice care is highly valued. Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and supporting residents with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely; experience working with Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, family members, healthcare teams, and community resources. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Ability to assist with ADLs efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach; experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus.
