Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Homemaker/In-Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their homes. This vital role involves delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and promoting independence for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. You will play a key role in enhancing quality of life through attentive caregiving, household management, and compassionate support. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote dignity and independence. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe changes in health status, documenting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations. Support medication administration following care plans and ensure proper handling of medications in compliance with safety protocols. Facilitate safe patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods, ensuring manual handling safety standards are met. Maintain a clean and organized living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing spaces. Provide companionship and emotional support while engaging clients in meaningful activities to enhance mental well-being. Support clients during medical appointments or community outings by providing personal transportation assistance and ensuring safety throughout. Requirements Prior experience working as a homemaker or in-home caregiver within group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism. Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and resident's rights. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; capable of heavy lifting when necessary. Certifications in CPR and First Aid are required; additional training in hospice care or geriatrics is a plus. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities is highly valued. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their families while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
