If so, The Children's Home of Wheeling, Inc. could be the perfect place for you. Our mission is to provide a temporary home, behavioral health treatment, and life-enhancing programs to abused, neglected, and troubled male youth from across West Virginia. We are currently hiring Direct Care Staff to support our residents and help them grow in a safe, structured environment. Now accepting resumes. Be a part of something meaningful.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED minimum. Must possess a Valid Driver's License. Must be 20 years old or older. Must pass a criminal background and CPS check, as well as pre-employment physical and drug screen. Related experience in behavioral health and residential programs preferred.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direct care and supervision for our adolescent males, ages 12-18. Be a stable, positive role model for youth, providing opportunities for youth to learn appropriate behaviors and interactions. Teach basic living skills such as laundry, making the bed, helping with homework, etc. Participate in recreational activities, outings, and events with youth. Supervise phone calls and on-campus visits between youth and approved contacts. Implement behavior management protocols with youth. Maintain accurate, detailed records and reports of activities and aspects of the residential program. Use approved non-violent physical crisis intervention techniques to physically manage residents in danger of harming themselves or others. Attend required trainings and professional development opportunities organized by the agency. Supervise the self-administration of medications by the youth.

AVAILABLE SHIFT

2:30pm-10:30pm FT and PT

•We are a 24/7/365 facility, so holidays may be required. Employees receive double time for holidays worked.
