Job Description

Responsibilities
  • DSPs support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) by providing them with safe living environments, helping them with daily tasks, and teaching them life skills
  • Assisting in meal preparation and follow menus
  • Maintaining a sanitary environment
  • Evaluating and documenting client progress
  • Administering client medication treatments, per agency policy
  • Attending to client medical needs as needed
  • The Overnight Asleep Staff is allowed to sleep (between the hours of 10:00pm & 5:30am) in a designated area within the house Qualifications
  • No experience is required
  • A sincere desire to work with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) is the most critical qualification
  • Commitment to the concept of excellent quality of life for adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities
  • Ability to communicate and work positively with adults with I/DD and their families, other community members and program staff
  • Must be literate and capable of understanding written and verbal orders
  • Must have the ability to stay calm in stressful situations and be able to respond in emergency situations at all times
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must consent to and pass a Federal Background Check and local
DFS Check Job Types:

$100.00 per day
