WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Case Manager is a non-exempt position responsible for coordinating family reunification services with family and/or qualified sponsors and assessing the needs of each unaccompanied child (UC) in care. Ensure trauma-informed theory and brief therapeutic techniques are used to work with unaccompanied children entering the United States Complete intake interview upon admission and promptly identify needs; Prepare assessments and any related social and medical history report or forms as they pertain to the client's needs and case record. Establishes a trusting relationship with the client. Identify, locate, and make contact with the child's sponsor within the United States Identify services needed and make referrals accordingly. Coordinate the service planning process. Ensure the concise and timely completion of all paperwork and documentation, including, but not limited to, administrative, clinical, and caseload requirements. Safeguard the human and legal rights of the clients. Coordination of discharge planning, including transporting unaccompanied minors to their destination within the United States, and coordination of post-release service Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor's degree in the human services field and one (1) year of experience working with children. Experience in residential services, specifically serving child welfare or refugee resettlement programs, is preferred. Bilingual skills required in clients' spoken languages, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and/or French, preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites Knowledge of service providers within the community Knowledge of social and emotional problems of children Knowledge of Immigration policies and procedures is helpful, but not required Ability to coordinate efforts, groups, and company requirements and activities to achieve program goals Ability to work under stressful situations Potential exposure to clients who may be verbally and/or physically aggressive Ability to lift and/or carry office supplies, files, equipment, etc., up to 25 lbs. when required Proof of Immunization for: Varicella (2 doses), MMR (2 doses), Influenza (1 dose yearly), and Tdap (1 dose). Ability to travel with children, including overnight travel as needed Ability to work long hours when required May be required to use a personal car to transport clients Must have a valid driver's license with auto insurance coverage.
