July 2026 Position Mission The Maria House Case Manager advances the mission of Opening Doors by empowering women and families experiencing homelessness to achieve safety, stability, self-sufficiency, and permanent housing. Through trauma informed, strengths-based case management, advocacy, and compassionate accountability, this position helps residents build the skills, confidence, and support systems needed to successfully transition to independent living. The Maria House Case Manager serves as the primary advocate for residents, ensuring they receive individualized support while contributing to a safe, respectful, and structured community environment. Essential Responsibilities Resident Case Management Provide individualized, trauma-informed case management through weekly meetings and goal planning. Assist residents with budgeting, employment, education, parenting, benefits (including
SSI/SSDI
), and housing navigation. Coordinate services with community partners, DHS, schools, healthcare providers, and the court system as needed. Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and aftercare services when appropriate. Support successful transitions to permanent housing. Residential Program Operations Complete resident intakes, orientations, room inspections, and documentation. Monitor resident chores, passes, and compliance with program expectations. Facilitate monthly house meetings and promote a positive community culture. Maintain communication logs and confidential resident records. Team & Community Engagement Collaborate with agency staff to ensure consistent, high-quality resident services. Provide coverage for residential staff as needed, including participation in the rotating on-call schedule. Represent Opening Doors through community outreach, agency tours, Gather & Grow, fundraising, and community partnerships. Participate in required trainings and support agency operations as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience Associate degree in Human Services or related field with two years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field. Knowledge & Skills Commitment to the mission and values of Opening Doors. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and strengths-based case management. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and collaborative working relationships. Experience serving individuals experiencing homelessness, trauma, or poverty preferred. Required Valid Drivers' License and proof of insurance; Certified in First Aid/CPR and Mandatory Reporting Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and respond effectively in emergency situations. Work is primarily performed indoors. Work Schedule Full-time weekday schedule with flexibility to meet program needs. Participation in the agency's rotating on-call schedule and occasional evening, weekend, holiday, or overnight coverage is required. Success in This Role A successful Maria House Case Manager measures success by the stability and independence achieved by residents.
