Job Description

We are a participating nonprofit organization in student loan forgiveness Our agency encourages persons of diverse faiths and backgrounds to apply for employment. At Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties, we offer a full range of foster care services for children removed from their homes. Our foster care program provides a safe and nurturing substitute family until the child is either returned to their parents / guardian or is placed in an alternative placement home. The foster care case manager provides case management services to children, birth families and foster parents to promote reunification. The ideal candidate will have experience in foster care. Scheduling for this position needs to be flexible based on the needs of the children, families and court. The position is full time, 40 hours per week. The Minimum degree
REQUIRED
for this position is a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Child Development, Human Services or related field

include, Education, Gerontology, Forensic Psychology, Social Science. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Follow DHHS requirements for contact with foster children, foster parents, and biological parents. Contact requirements vary and include phone calls and visits to the foster homes. Attend all meetings on child's behalf (CMH, school, IEP, CTAC). Visit birth families at least quarterly in the birth parents home. Visit foster children at least monthly in the foster home. Attend all court hearings on time and prepared with court report. Preparation of all court reports and quarterly reports (ISP, USP's) timely. Facilitate needed service referrals for therapy, psychological evaluations, etc. Be available in collaboration with other CCJLHC foster care staff, to assist foster parents with emergency situations 365 days a year which includes shifts as on call worker. Supervise parent-child visits even if said visits are after-hours or on weekends. Transport program clients to needed services or appointments. Be comfortable speaking in public at meetings, court and in front of families/groups. Testify in court quarterly regarding children and families progress. Work collaboratively with licensing, DHHS, court and adoption staff. Develop case service plans and monitor progress of clients on treatment plans. Report all suspected child abuse and neglect to Centralized Intake. Participate in professional enrichment courses. Participate in public education and awareness presentations. Prepare for, attend, and actively participate in weekly individual supervision as well as monthly staff meetings. Attend agency All Staff Meetings. Present a professional image and maintain professional behavior and boundaries at all times both, in the office, and when interacting as a representative of the agency within the community. Maintain and demonstrate an attitude of respect towards clients, coworkers, supervisors and other agency professionals at all times. Uphold all ethical and legal standards regarding client confidentiality. Adhere to the Diocese of Lansing's Code of Ethics and also code of ethics as directed by licensure. Comply with all agency policies and procedures. Commit to the philosophy of continuous improvement. Perform duties in keeping with Catholic social teachings. Perform other duties as assigned.
