Job Description

Job Overview Home of New Vision is a substance use treatment and support services program with locations in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and Jackson, Michigan. HNV is thrilled to be reopening our crisis intervention Engagement Center in Ypsilanti, MI! We are seeking 1 Peer Recovery Coach, 2 Case Managers, 1 Program Manager, and multiple Program Assistants to be a part of this exciting step. The Engagement Center is a short-term crisis intervention facility that provides a supervised, supportive setting for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. As an alternative to emergency room care, the Engagement Center is aimed at clients who require observation for safety in an appropriate setting. It is a safe, clean, welcoming environment where clients can stabilize, have a meal, take a shower, and talk to caring staff and volunteers about their situations. The EC staff will work with clients and connect them to treatment and recovery resources in the community. Certified Peer Recovery Coach/Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPRC/CPSS) We are seeking a full-time staff member to provide peer recovery support and mental health peer support to individuals with substance use and co-occurring behavioral health needs by using lived experience to build trust, foster hope, and promote participant engagement. The
CPRC/CPSS
supports case management and participants throughout the assessment, authorization, and treatment-placement process; helps maintain engagement while services are being coordinated; transports participants to and from referral partners; participates in approved mobile responses; facilitates warm handoffs; and connects participants with appropriate services and community resources that promote long-term recovery and stability through connection to the recovery community. The ideal candidate will have a preferred 2 years of continuous recovery from a substance use disorder. Required training/certification will be provided if necessary. Case Manager We are seeking 2 full-time staff members to provide case management and service coordination to participants by conducting comprehensive strengths-based assessments and identifying barriers to stabilization, treatment engagement, recovery, housing, healthcare, behavioral health services, transportation, benefits, documentation, and other social determinants of health. The Case Manager will engage participants referred through healthcare, public safety, and criminal justice partners while facilitating timely access to community-based treatment and recovery supports as an alternative to unnecessary emergency department utilization, hospitalization, or incarceration when appropriate. The Case Manager will also partner closely with Certified Peer Recovery Coaches/Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPRC/CPSS) and other staff to develop individualized service plans, identify and facilitate community resource connections, coordinate transportation, warm handoffs, guide participants through the assessment, authorization, and treatment-placement process, while promoting continuity of care and successful community integration. A Bachelor's Degree in Human Services/Health Services is required (BSW, BSN, etc.). Program Manager We are seeking a full-time staff member to provide day-to-day clinical supervision, operational leadership, and administrative oversight for the Engagement Initiative while coordinating the delivery of Engagement Center services. The Program Manager supervises staff, oversees participant flow and daily operations, serves as the primary liaison with hospitals, first responders, law enforcement, courts, jails, probation/parole, reentry partners, treatment providers, and community organizations. The Program Manager will also provide operational leadership for referral, diversion, drop-off, and mobile-response pathways. The position facilitates cross-system collaboration to reduce barriers to engagement, assessment, authorization, treatment placement, transportation, and warm handoffs while ensuring services are delivered using person-centered, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and harm-reduction approaches. LMSW Degree preferred. Program Assistants We are seeking multiple part-time program assistants for all shifts. The Engagement Center is a 24-hour facility and will be hiring for the following: day shift (8 A.M
  • 4 P.M.) , afternoon shift (4 P.M.
  • 12 A.M.) , and midnight shift (12 A.M.
  • 8 A.
M.) . This position will provide direct participant support and continuous onsite services within the Engagement Center while maintaining a safe, welcoming, supervised, and recovery-oriented environment. The Program Assistant supports participant stabilization through Engagement Center intake, participant orientation, basic-needs assistance, routine Engagement Center operations, conducts safety head checks, and takes basic medical vitals and documentation. The position supports participants throughout the assessment, authorization, and treatment-placement process; assists with daily operations and participant transitions; and promotes participant dignity, safety, engagement, and a recovery-focused environment in accordance with Home of New Vision policies and procedures. The Program Assistant will receive warm handoffs from Case Managers and
CPRC/CPSS
staff to ensure a seamless transition into Engagement Center services, including participant intake, orientation, and ongoing support.
