Louis, MO 63133 Hawthorn Children's Psychiatric Hospital provides specialized care for children and adolescents diagnosed with mental illness. We are looking for a positive and energetic Senior Therapeutic Service Worker who has an interest in helping children with mental illness maximize their potential. Hawthorn Children's Psychiatric Hospital uses the Sanctuary Model to guide our interactions with our teammates and the care we provide to our consumers in order to promote healing, safety, and nonviolence. This is accomplished by following the Foundation of Sanctuary
  • The Four Pillars of (1) Trauma Theory, (2) Seven Commitments, (3) S.E.L.F. (Safety, Emotion, Loss, and Future), (4) Sanctuary Tool Kit. Responsibilities
  • What you'll do The primary duties assigned to this Senior Therapeutic Services Worker position include, but are not limited to: Develops knowledge of activity techniques and their therapeutic applications as a means of developing the consumers' social skills, responsibility, and initiative; as well as their ability to cope with problems, gain self-satisfaction, and adapt to various situations.
Introduces new activities, special events, and outings providing variety and diversity. Has knowledge of individual and group behavior and effective ways of working with clients. Has basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. Assists in escorting consumers to and from activity areas. Ability to accurately manage activity funds, chart on client attendance and participation, and complete set-up/clean-up of activities. Ability to drive the facility vehicles. Ability to establish and maintain client interest and participation in activities. Qualifications
  • All you need for success Has two (2) or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.) Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license. Must be able to commence performance of the new position duties within five (5) calendar days of acceptance . Job Details
