: : Must act in a responsible manner within the shelter rules to ensure safety of persons and property at the shelter. Must enforce shelter rules uniformly and consistently. Must be able to communicate pertinent information to case managers and volunteers through both technological and verbal communication and attend staff meetings regularly.
Qualifications:
1. The shelter supervisor must have an awareness of the existence of domestic violence, sexual assault, homelessness, and human trafficking. Must be able to demonstrate empathy for all victims while maintaining professional boundaries. 2. The shelter staff should possess an understanding of and a strong commitment to the mission of the program. 3. The shelter staff must be able to establish positive working relationships with co-workers and volunteers. 4. The shelter staff should demonstrate an ability to make logical, appropriate decisions in crisis and non-crisis situations. 5. The shelter staff must work with minimal supervision and be flexible in availability.
Duties:
1. Answer the crisis line and record notes as appropriate. In person contacts with shelter residents should be recorded for case management as appropriate. 2. Provide advocacy to residents while at the shelter. Maintain professional relationships with residents as outlined in the Code of Professional Practice. 3. Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with the laws of the State of North Dakota and consistent with the program's personnel policies. 4. Receive and organize donations, maintain clean and safe office and shelter areas. 5. Ensure that shelter guidelines are followed. 6. Arrange for needed resident transportation. 7. Complete resident entrance and exit interviews form. 8. Other duties as assigned.
