Job Description

About the Role The Family Resource Center is hiring a Family Support Specialist to provide case management and support to families in our DCYF-funded Community Based Voluntary Supports program. You'll work directly with families in the Berlin and Littleton area, building trusting relationships, helping them reach their goals, and connecting them with community resources — all with the goal of keeping kids safe and families strong. What You'll Do Build strong relationships with enrolled families and meet with them in person at least twice a week Maintain a caseload of no more than 10 families at a time Use Motivational Interviewing techniques to support families in reaching their goals Complete assessments and collaborative service plans within program timelines Connect families with community resources (mental health, housing, transportation, and more) Maintain accurate documentation and attend weekly supervision What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related human services field At least 2 years of experience working with children and families Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills Comfortable working independently in the field Ability to travel throughout the Berlin/Littleton area Ability to pass required background checks (BEAS, DCYF Central Registry, criminal background check) Schedule Monday-Friday, generally 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, with some flexibility needed to meet family schedules.
