The Assistant Director of Pre-Litigation will be responsible for the day-to-day management, coaching, accountability, and performance of our pre-litigation Case Managers. We are looking for someone who understands personal injury case management, knows what a healthy case inventory should look like, and can quickly recognize when a case or Case Manager needs additional attention. This is a hands-on management position. The right person will be comfortable managing experienced Case Managers, reviewing files and inventories, setting clear expectations, providing direct feedback, and stepping into escalated client or case issues when additional experience or authority is needed. This role will work closely with the Director of Pre-Litigation, Senior Attorney, and other members of firm leadership. Responsibilities Manage, coach, and develop the firm's Case Managers Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and provide ongoing performance feedback Set clear expectations and address performance issues when necessary Review Case Manager inventories to identify stalled cases, aging files, missed follow-ups, and other issues requiring attention Ensure Case Managers maintain regular and appropriate communication with clients Review files to ensure cases are progressing appropriately through the pre-litigation process Work directly in individual files when necessary to resolve issues or help move cases forward Serve as the first management-level escalation point for Case Managers and handle escalated client concerns when appropriate Review case audits with Case Managers and ensure identified issues are corrected Ensure firm processes, standards, and expectations are consistently followed Coach Case Managers through difficult files, treatment issues, and client concerns Train and onboard Case Managers and reinforce best practices Participate meaningfully in Case Manager performance evaluations and performance management Follow up on firm initiatives and assignments to ensure they are implemented Identify recurring issues, trends, or patterns and bring leadership observations and practical recommendations Coordinate with Legal Assistants, attorneys, and other departments to resolve case-level issues and keep cases moving Maintain a strong sense of urgency and consistent follow-through Qualifications Bilingual in English/Spanish is
REQUIRED
5+ years of personal injury pre-litigation experience is
REQUIRED
Prior leadership experience supervising, managing, training, mentoring, or being accountable for the performance of others is strongly preferred Strong understanding of the personal injury case lifecycle from intake through settlement Working knowledge of medical treatment, records and billing, insurance claims, demands, negotiations, liens, and settlements Ability to review a case inventory and quickly recognize files that need attention Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills Comfortable providing direct feedback and holding people accountable Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-through Good judgment and ability to solve day-to-day problems independently while recognizing when an issue should be escalated Professional, dependable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Experience with case management software required Filevine experience strongly preferred Success in This Role Success means Case Managers are well-supported, expectations are clear, files are moving, clients are hearing from us, problems are identified early, and follow-up happens.
