Job Description
Human Trafficking Advocate Renewal House is seeking a compassionate, organized, and motivated Advocate to provide trauma-informed advocacy and support services to survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence and sexual assault. This position works directly with survivors to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support and advocacy while helping individuals navigate the many systems they may encounter. The Advocate will provide survivor-centered support, promote empowerment and help connect survivors with resources related to housing, legal services, healthcare, financial assistance, counseling and other community supports. This position will work as a member of the St. Lawrence County Human Trafficking Task Force which is a team of people from Renewal House, St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, and St. Lawrence County District Attorney's Office. This Advocate will also work under those Policies and Procedures. This position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, empathy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working with individuals experiencing crisis and trauma.
