JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Shelter Manager, the Assistant Shelter Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive, trauma-informed case management and housing stabilization services to all families residing at Marian Hall while assisting with the daily management and operation of the shelter. This position serves as the primary case manager for shelter residents and functions as the Shelter Manager's designee during scheduled and unscheduled absences. The Assistant Shelter Manager provides direct supervision to assigned staff (Case Aide and Family Engagement Coordinator), ensures high-quality resident services, supports daily shelter operations, promotes regulatory compliance, and helps maintain a safe, welcoming, and resident-centered environment consistent with HONOR's mission. The Assistant Shelter Manager balances direct service responsibilities with operational leadership and serves as a member of the shelter leadership team. This position requires flexibility to meet the operational needs of the shelter and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and participation in the agency's on-call rotation as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION
(Not the Individual Qualification) 1. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology or related field required 2. Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in homeless services, residential services, case management, supportive housing, or related human services. 3. Previous supervisory, lead, or program coordination experience preferred. 4. Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed care, Housing First, crisis intervention, Motivational Interviewing, strengths-based case management, and family-centered service delivery. 5. Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with demonstrated passion for HONOR's mission. 6. Detail-oriented and have competent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities (friendly, courteous, helpful, ability to work as part of a team). 7. Ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work with residents, staff and support agencies. 8. Bi-lingual preferred 9. Valid New York State driver's license

$28.00 per hour
