Job Description
Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Bilingual (Spanish/English) Prevention Counselor to join our State Opioid Response (SOR) program. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducting Evidence Based Prevention workshops for youth, individually or in a group setting.
- Conducting Evidence Based Prevention workshops for parents, individually or in a group setting.
- Assessing individuals for mental health conditions and referring to licensed mental health professionals, as needed.
- Providing individuals with links and referrals to community resources
- Attending school events to promote the programs.
- Completing all necessary program documentation as required by
OASAS Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, psychology or related field.
- Must be fully fluent in both Spanish and English
- Must have valid Driver's license and transportation
- Some knowledge of mental health/substance use
- Must be self-driven and passionate about helping people
- Some Experience working with teens and multicultural populations.
Preferred:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides)
