This is a position for a Children Services Case Worker. The job entails, but is not limited to, the following; taking abuse/neglect reports, answering phone calls, investigation of complaints of abuse/neglect regarding children and/or adults. Conducting interviews with any parties concerned in a case. Working with community partners such as counseling, law enforcement, etc to refer for services. Placing children in foster homes or monitoring safety plans in and out of the home. Working with the court system on cases which may require court intervention. Monitoring ongoing cases. Completing paperwork, assessments, and documentation reflecting your work. Following all state rules and guidelines as set forth by this agency. Maintaining a caseload. Serving in an on-call capacity. In summary, acting as a case manager to assist with any related issues to an abuse/neglect report from the initial phone call to the end of the case. Previous children services experience and an LSW are preferred. However, those are not required. The following are the requirements; one year of experience as a Social Services Worker 1, or completion of graduate core casework in a behavioral science, social science early childhood development, education or related fields, or completion of undergraduate major core coursework or 2 years technical training in behavioral science, social science, early childhood development technology, education or related field. Also requires 1 year of experience in a position similar to a Social Services Worker 1, or working with children/adults in need of or receiving protective services, or handling adoptions, or counseling persons who have experienced abuse/neglect, and a valid driver's license, or 2 courses in adult psychology 1 of which must be in the area of gerontology or 12 months experience, 2 courses or 12 months experience in child psychology, 2 courses in social welfare or other sociology related topic or 12 months experience, 2 course or 12 months experience in counseling, 1 course or 6 months experience in interviewing techniques, 1 course or 6 months experience in domestic violence, and 1 course or 6 months experience in courtroom procedures. Or education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.
