Concord Counseling Services is seeking a part-time Respite Companion (10 hours per week) to provide respite for caregivers who have someone with a severe mental illness living with them. This position has flexible hours based on the needs of the client and the availability of the Respite Companion. Provide in-home and/or community engagement services to the loved one so that the caregiver can attend to other needs Assist clients in achieving an increased level of independence within the community by accompanying them to meals, activities etc. Assist in stress reduction within the family and the client through a strength-based service plan Increase the clients' interactions outside of his/her family unit and home
Requirements:
Qualifications Needed for Success for a Respite Companion High School diploma or equivalent with an Associate's degree in Social Work preferred. Some knowledge of mental illness, psychiatric symptoms, and their impact on functioning and behavior. Demonstrated sound judgement and the ability to model appropriate behavior. Must have a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle, maintain a good driving record and have the ability to provide safe transportation Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
