Job Description

Early career and experienced human services professionals are encouraged to consider an available full-time Protective Services Case Worker position with Liberty Healthcare and the Pennsylvania Adult Protective Services Program. The mission of this program is to detect, prevent, reduce and eliminate abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment of adults who are living with disabilities. Key responsibilities As a Protective Services Case Worker, you will focus on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of others. Each day you will travel throughout the region and conduct investigations in residences. You will interview individuals to determine if reports of need are substantiated, then document your findings, develop service plans, and manage cases through to closure. This is very important work that leads to a high degree of job satisfaction though serving and protecting others. What can I expect in this role? Starting pay is approximately $48,000 (paid $23.08 per hour) with opportunities to earn additional income by working optional overtime and taking on additional cases. You will earn 30 days of paid time off annually which you may use for holidays, vacation, personal time, and sick leave. Other benefits are also offered. Adult protective services training is provided to new hires. You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy in this role with some flexibility in your work schedule and occasional work into the evenings. Dedicated and hardworking top performers can look forward to opportunities for advancement and consideration of promotion into future leadership roles. Do I qualify for this position? Liberty considers both experienced human services professionals and entry level applicants. A bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice or another human services field is preferred but not required if you have relevant experience in any of these areas: Service Coordinator, Supports Coordinator, Program Specialist or Case Manger roles Child, Family and Youth Services or Older Adult Protective Services Behavioral / mental health or developmental disabilities services Law enforcement Field-based healthcare or human services roles Since you will be required to travel locally and regionally, you must have your own vehicle. Work-related mileage and toll expenses are reimbursed.
