Truancy Caseworker - Full Time (40 hours per week)
Pay:
$22/hour
Qualifications Education:
MA in social work or human services field (Beneficial)
Experience:
Two years in case management (Beneficial)

BA in social work or human services field (Required) Work authorization: United States (Required) Required travel: 75% (Locally) Full Job Description Under the supervision of the truancy supervisor, the caseworker will provide support and case management services to families and individuals within a school and home setting. Duties include outreach to expand awareness of agency programs; home visits as well as office, phone, and written communication with clients; school visits to meet with staff, students and retrieve school documents; make appropriate referrals for clients; represent families at regional truancy court and family court; coordinate with other agencies to assist clients; maintain case files including data entry and case notes. The location where services will be provided is Brownsville. The home office location will be at East End United Community Center, but the caseworker will have flexibility in working remotely.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Experience providing community-based social supports Working understanding of child and family development Community and resource development knowledge Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplined environment Excellent written and verbal communications skills Creative, outgoing team player with the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and priorities Ability to work with a diverse population Must be detailed oriented and highly organized Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) Working knowledge of database applications Bilingual a plus Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational, problem solving, and time management skills Friendly and approachable demeanor Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic.
