Community Services Advocate

Duties

• Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals seeking shelter
• Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized service plans
• Assist clients in accessing necessary resources and services
• Provide case management and advocacy services to clients
• Conduct regular check-ins with clients to monitor progress and address any concerns
• Collaborate with other staff members and community partners to ensure comprehensive care for clients
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
• Participate in team meetings and trainings as required
• Serve as on-call staff, as necessary and appropriate, to maintain 24-hour response to local victims of sexual assault and domestic violence by phone or in person. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required
• Experience working in a shelter or similar environment is a plus
• Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking and crisis intervention techniques
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in data collection, file management, and documentation
• Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and professionalism This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing support and advocacy for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
