Community Events & HIV Testing Coordinator RipplePHX is a small, but mighty nonprofit in Phoenix, AZ. We are innovative, fast-paced, demanding and our goal is to address today's HIV virus through impact-focused splashes of awareness, love, and celebrations of individual sexual expression as a back-to-grass-roots project created for our LGTBQ+ community. Our Team works each week to empower you to create your ripple by becoming informed, sharing the knowledge, and embracing at least one tool in the greater movement toward stopping the spread of HIV in our Community. This positions is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys events, hospitality, organization, community interaction, and taking ownership of a space. From communicating with community partners about upcoming reservations, setting up tables and chairs, stocking supplies, and keeping the space clean and event-ready, to welcoming walk-ins and serving as an in-house resource for HIV testing - the Community Events Coordinator helps create a welcoming and inviting experience for everyone who walks through our doors. This position also helps ensure HIV testing is readily available for our community.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Community Corner and In-House Events Manage the day-to-day coordination of RipplePHX's Community Corner and other in-house events. Communicate with individuals, organizations, and community partners interested in reserving or using the Community Corner, before, during and after the event, coordinating reservations, schedules, space needs, setup requirements, and other details. Prepare, set up, and reset event spaces, including tables, chairs, signage equipment, beverages, and supplies. Assist with event-day needs, troubleshoot issues, and help ensure a welcoming experience for guests and community partners. Maintain the Community Corner reservation calendar and help prevent scheduling conflicts. Monitor, organize, and replenish event supplies, including beverages, ice, paper products, and other commonly used items. Office and Facility Readiness Take ownership of the overall appearance, organization, cleanliness, and readiness of the RipplePHX office and public-facing spaces Complete routine cleaning and upkeep, including floors, restrooms, trash, surfaces, and sidewalks and exterior entry areas. Regularly identify and address cleaning, maintenance, safety, supply or appearance issues throughout the office. Monitor, order, receive, and organize office, cleaning, restroom, kitchen and facility supplies. Identify items that are broken, damaged, or not functioning properly and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed. In-House HIV Testing Serve as RipplePHX's primary in-house resource for HIV testing and maintain a welcoming, confidential, and stigma-free testing experience. Welcome and test walk-in clients while following RipplePHX HIV testing procedures, protocols, and quality standards. Maintain proficiency in HIV testing, including test administration, interpretation, documentation, quality control, and established procedures for results notification. Maintain in-house testing areas, including testing supplies.
MUST HAVE
Enthusiasm and Passion for doing challenging work. Hospitality-minded and enjoys creating welcoming spaces for others. Comfortable performing both administrative and hands on work. Basic Knowledge of HIV, including prevention, testing, treatment, and PrEP, with a willingness to continue learning. Comfortable discussing HIV, sexual health, prevention, and testing with people from diverse backgrounds. Strong follow-up skills - not letting things fall through the cracks. A flexible schedule, typical schedule would be Tuesday to Saturday. Willingness to learn and be curious. Access to your own, reliable vehicle - Valid Driver's License and Valid Car Insurance. High School Diploma. Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including event setup, breakdown, cleaning, and moving supplies. Able to actively participate at both indoor and some outdoor events for 6+ hours year-round.
