Compensation:

$26.00 per hour,

Plus Gas & Technology Stipend Location:

Civic Engagement Lead and Organizing Manager Evening/Weekend Availability:

Some evenings/weekends may be required based on events and organizing needs Somos Familia Valle is focused on building local power by organizing, mobilizing, and activating our community member base. We are seeking an Integrated Voter Engagement (IVE) Organizer to work as part of our Civic Engagement team. The IVE Organizer will engage community members and grassroots leaders through outreach, recruitment, and organizing conversations in support of Election Defense efforts. Organizers will encourage community members to become civically engaged, participate in events and activities, join our membership, and take part in local actions that build community power throughout the San Fernando Valley. Day Responsibilities:

Work with our Civic Engagement and Organizing Manager to develop engagement opportunities Conduct outreach to grassroots leaders, community members, and prospective volunteers through community meetings, tabling, in-person events, canvassing, phone banking, and other outreach activities. Follow-up with existing volunteers to ensure retention and growth of the volunteer base Need to be willing to continually learn and be motivated to improve organizing skill level. Organize and activate grassroots leaders so they can organize their networks and communities Reach daily and weekly benchmark goals for the number of pledge cards collected and grassroot leaders identified Communicate the organization's organizing and campaign goals accurately and effectively to community members. Meet established daily and weekly outreach and engagement goals, including goals related to pledge cards, contacts, volunteer recruitment, and grassroots leader identification. Accurately document outreach activities and submit required data and daily reports in a timely manner. Participate in required meetings, orientation, training, and ongoing development activities.

Requirements:

Availability to work 24 hours a week, Mondays through Thursdays, and some weekends. Must attend a mandatory orientation on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Must attend a mandatory training:

Day 1

• Tuesday, September 29: 12:00 PM-5:00 PM Day 2
• Wednesday, September 30: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Day 3
• Thursday, October 1: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Must follow a script and provide accurate information to community members Have a strong commitment to social and racial justice Be able to connect with diverse people, always maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude to inspire voters and build connections/relationships.

Be able to clearly articulate our organizing and campaign goals to community members in an inspiring way Be able to listen for cues from grassroot leaders

Organizers must be prepared to work in all types of weather, complete light physical activities such as standing or walking for long periods of time and be able to carry up to 10 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in Spanish and English Prior experience in organizing and recruitment is a plus Having your own transportation is preferred; a gas stipend will be provided for those with a valid DL and Insurance.
