AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities. What will you do? The community outreach coordinator plays a critical role in strengthening relationships through planning, coordination and implementation of projects in partnership with the community. These relationships with community residents, local organizations, elected officials and stakeholders help identify areas where Habitat for Humanity's housing and community development solutions can intersect with identified needs and aspirations.

Service activities:

Build relationships and partnerships with community residents, local organizations, elected officials and stakeholders. Work alongside programs team and community advocates to plan and execute community improvement projects. Engage volunteers from community to support local improvement projects and events. Coordinate and document the implementation of new projects in partnership with the community. Support development and marketing of the affiliate education program. Support planning and execution of new and existing events at the ReStore and Affiliate to engage new members of the community and retain valued donors and volunteers. This position will focus on neighborhood revitalization, research, monitoring, and/or evaluation, ReStore, virtual/digital systems and platforms, and volunteer services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations. Unique Projects:

The community outreach coordinator will experience our community's robust network of nonprofit and corporate professionals and see in the inner workings of event coordination. During their time at the affiliate, they will represent the organization at numerous professional networking events, assist with building interest and knowledge of Women Build, Jingle Build Off, Hard Hat Happy Hour, Thanks a Latte, and other key engagement events. The member will also work within community neighborhoods where we are building strong ties for revitalization efforts to advance our impact through community programing. About 30% of this position requires outreach in the community, including visiting buildings and homes that may have stairs, as well as occasionally serving on project sites that may have uneven terrain. Service site environment Member will primarily serve in an open-space office and will share the area with other staff or fellow members. Each member will have a desk, computer (with email and internet access) and a phone for service-related tasks. Shared resources include a printer, copy machine, as well as office supplies. Member will occasionally be engaged in community outreach events, such as community resource fairs, serving outside in various types of weather.
