La Casa Amiga Friendship House is seeking a compassionate, organized, open-minded , and community-focused Assistant Director to support daily operations, programs, and community outreach. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to serve local families, strengthen community partnerships, coordinate educational and cultural programs, and maintain a welcoming environment for everyone in our community. This position will also teach conversational Spanish classes designed to help community members, businesses, and local organizations develop practical Spanish communication skills. Key Responsibilities Support the Executive Director with daily operations and administrative needs. Coordinate programs, classes, events, volunteers, and community initiatives. Assist with program organization, communications, documentation, and general office needs. Represent La Casa Amiga Friendship House at community meetings and outreach events. Build relationships with schools, businesses, nonprofits, and community partners. Help coordinate our ESL and kids tutoring programs. Develop and teach conversational Spanish classes focused on practical, everyday communication. Create engaging lessons for community members, businesses, and organizations Qualifications Fluent bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Experience in education, nonprofit work, community outreach, or working with diverse populations preferred. Experience teaching Spanish or conversational language classes is a plus. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with staff and community partners. Basic computer, email, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Open-minded, respectful, and comfortable working with individuals and families from different cultures, backgrounds, identities, and life experiences.
