About Light of Chance, Inc. Light of Chance, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through arts, education, mentorship, and community engagement. Through our BREATHE Youth Arts Program , we provide safe, creative environments where students in grades 5-12 develop confidence, leadership skills, and positive relationships through visual arts, music, dance, culinary arts, yoga, and creative expression. We're looking for an energetic, relationship-driven Program Engagement Coordinator who is passionate about working with youth, building community partnerships, and helping participants thrive. Position Summary The Program Engagement Coordinator leads participant recruitment, retention, family engagement, and community outreach. This role serves as the primary point of contact for participants and families, helping ensure youth remain actively engaged while expanding awareness of Light of Chance throughout the community. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of young people. Key ResponsibilitiesParticipant Engagement Welcome new participants and families. Conduct participant orientations and program tours. Monitor attendance and participant engagement. Contact absent participants within 24 hours. Conduct regular participant and family check-ins. Identify and address barriers to participation. Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. Family Engagement Maintain ongoing communication with parents and guardians. Respond promptly to participant and family inquiries. Schedule support meetings when needed. Share program updates, reminders, and upcoming events. Community Outreach & Recruitment Develop partnerships with schools, churches, community organizations, and referral agencies. Represent Light of Chance at community events and outreach activities. Recruit new participants and process referrals. Maintain participant waitlists. Present program information to community groups. Program Promotion Assist with participant recognition activities and family engagement events. Promote programs through social media, newsletters, and community outreach. Collaborate with staff to increase participation and community awareness. Documentation & Reporting Maintain participant records and communication logs. Track attendance, referrals, outreach activities, and engagement metrics. Prepare monthly reports and assist with program outcome tracking. Maintain participant databases and documentation.
