Goals:
Aligned with HCR's mission to support thriving neighborhoods and build resilient futures, the Resilient Futures Program is designed to expand service capacity and improve economic stability for vulnerable residents within the Treme Community. Through this initiative, HCR seeks to leverage an AmeriCorps member to serve as a Program & Outreach Coordinator, increasing the organization's ability to provide individualized support to single-parent households with children and seniors without family support. The program prioritizes residents who face barriers to economic mobility, access to healthcare, and essential resources. The AmeriCorps member will conduct outreach, assess resident needs, and connect individuals to critical supports that reduce financial burden and improve overall well-being.
Member Position Summary and Impact:
The Program & Outreach coordinator is a support to individuals and families living in mixedincome affordable, helping them reach their goals by finding local resources, and sponsorships to support programs that residents indicate they would like to participate in their community.
Key Activities:
Conduct outreach and intake assessments to identify resident needs Provide individualized resource navigation and referrals Coordinate and facilitate community-based programs and partnerships Coordinate and support the Community Ambassadors (resident leaders) to help with events, programs, and program planning for residents in Lake Charles (Wooding Apts,), Lafayette (Bottle Art Loft Apts) and New Iberia (School Days) Track participation, service utilization, and outcomes Program Activities Supporting Resilient Futures Wellness workshops with healthcare providers Holiday social events and community-building activities Outdoor fitness classes coordinated with certified instructors
